Thinking Of Selling Your Cary, NC Home? Guidelines To Get You Started
Dated: February 27 2021
- So, you're thinking about putting your home on the market. I'm sure the overwhelm is probably setting in and you're asking yourself, "Where do I start?" Well, here are a few guidelines to follow to get your home sold faster and for more money.
I have found that by having a plan to follow, you can better prepare your home for those wonderful house-hunters.
The first thing you can do is a big one and everyone needs to do it in some manner, and that is to declutter and deep clean your home. This can be a really long process, so the sooner you start, the better. Take a really good look at each room and pack up anything and everything that you don't need for at least the next couple of months. This includes personal items, including pictures. And remember, you've got to move anyways, so why not pack up the stuff now so you're getting a head start? Next, you wanna make sure that your home is spic-and-span clean. By decluttering and cleaning your home, you will also make your home look bigger and brighter. Also, when a buyer sees a dirty home, they may feel that the home may not have been well kept, and we do not wanna give buyers any reason to look elsewhere. Help your home shine to perspective buyers by polishing any hardware like door knobs and cabinet handles, make sure the floors shine and are dust-free, and if you have tile, the grout should be cleaned as well.
Number two. You also wanna finish any of those little projects you got started but never really got around to finishing, and be sure that structural and mechanical items are in working order as well. That'd be things like your HVAC system and your water heater.
Number three. If your home hasn't had a fresh coat of paint on those walls for a while, you may wanna consider painting. Although you may really like that purple kitchen, it may make your kitchen look like a cave to the prospective buyer.
Now, these are all some great tips for the inside, but I don't want you to forget about creating a great first impression, which brings me to number four: curb appeal.
So, to learn more about curb appeal and more practical steps you need to think about when selling, keep a look out for our YouTube channel or visit our website, namasteam.com.
